Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our Major Threat Restaurants Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, kitchen operations and managing a team of kitchen staff to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive dining experience. This role is critical to the success of our Restaurants and offers the opportunity to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Assistant Kitchen Manager duties include managing line and prep staff. You will learn to manage day to day operations, ordering, daily inventory and prep lists, food costing as well as scheduling.

You will be responsible for upholding food and cleanliness standards, learn to prep and cook our diverse menu.

We are looking for a hard working, dedicated professional to grow with us in our fast-growing Restaurant Group that includes Craft'd (Plainfield and Yorkville locations), Fuse'd, Chop'd and Khaos Brewcade & Kitchen.

Previous Kitchen Experience (1+ Year) Required

Duties:

- Manage and maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.

- Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers and prep cooks, to ensure efficient food preparation and timely delivery to the dining area.

- Conduct interviews and hire new kitchen staff members, providing training and guidance to ensure their success in the role.

- Oversee food inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing kitchen equipment and tools.

- Prepare and implement menu planning, including menu development, pricing and presentation.

- Manage kitchen operations during peak hours, ensuring that food is prepared to the highest quality and that customer needs are met.

- Monitor and control kitchen costs, including labor, food, and supplies, to ensure profitability.

- Maintain a positive, professional and respectful work environment, providing coaching and feedback to kitchen staff as needed.

- Ensure compliance with all food safety and quality standards, including those related to food handling and storage.

- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and drive sales growth.

Skills:

- Proven experience as an Assistant Kitchen Manager preferred.

- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations and culinary techniques.

- Experience in Restaurants, specifically Kitchens.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and train kitchen staff.

- Experience with inventory control, including ordering and managing kitchen supplies. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.

- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

- Certification in food safety and handling required.
